Many know of the power of music to connect with someone with brain changes --aka, dementia, or in the case of one type of dementia Alzheimers. However, knowing how to really USE music, to structure the visit, to engage the person, to bring joy? Not so easy. This music and guide is a excellent and easy to use tool to help you as a caregiver, a partner and even in an activities role to add meaning and engagement to the music you wish to share! What an amazing way to connect, when language is lost. All that aside, Mary Sue's voice is clear and lovely. Not only is she clearly skilled in knowing how to connect with people with brain change, but she is truly a gifted vocalist, as well! I can listen to her over and over again. I just tried one of the suggestion, and got great results the last time I visited my father-in-law. I know you'll find this music and the book easy to use from the start and filled with joy as you go!

I have had first-hand experience with the power of this book. My mother lived with Alzheimer's for over 10 years until her death at the age of 94. In the end, MUSIC was the only thing left that opened up her world, and gave her joy. The concept behind this book, and the impact it has, is immeasurable for people living with Dementia and Alzheimer's.
I was expecting more songs. Not to have to download. I'm not a big computer person and limited access at work. aN ITEM i PLAN TO USE WITH PATIENTS ON MY GERIATRIC UNIT.
I bought this book to help lead songs at my father's memory care unit. They all love to sing. While the book was nice it definitely was not worth $35.00. Did not have the lyrics to the songs so I had to look them up online. I was hoping to return the book but it looks like I can't.
